I am a 52-year-old mom with two kids (ages 9 and 26), a husband who works in our attic and a full-time job as the co-founder of a Brooklyn-based business. My family lives a mostly idyllic life in a small village in the Hudson Valley, sixty miles north of New York City.
In April 2016 we became a zero car family when my husband and I made a deliberate decision to sell our recently purchased 5-speed VW Jetta. We went car free to improve our lifestyle, increase our disposable income, and to do right by the environment. This blog documents my experience, my ruminations, and the various strategies I use to stay committed to this plan.
Enjoy our ride!
